JMWA is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our client site in Fayetteville, AR
Description:
Conduct and carry out portions of daily inspections of site work and building construction work; document discrepancies, code violations, improper materials, or techniques in the application of materials, and substandard or poor quality workmanship; monitoring schedules and various aspects of ongoing daily activities to identify and mitigate project slippage and assist in coordinating project activities to accommodate project phasing.
Review contractor's submittals for technical compliance with contract requirements, ensuring installed work is consistent with approved submittals for final approval of submittals and installed work; review contractor requests for payment for accuracy and acceptability for final approval on the payment; prepare estimates for technical changes and review contractor change proposals and cost breakdowns for proposed quantities of labor, equipment and materials; maintaining accurate and complete files relating to the CM services on the project; identify progress delays and recommending appropriate corrective measures to mitigate delays and maintain the progress schedule.
Utilize computerized management system applications such as Paragon for documenting progress, processing requests for information, prepare draft contract modification documents, etc; maintain an inventory of materials, supplies and equipment and monitoring the quantity of materials used in the general administration and conduct of office operations.
Submit monthly reports indicating work completed, work in progress with estimated completion dates, work scheduled and outstanding work.

Current professional license (mechanical - PE) registration and maintenance of same throughout tenure.
Knowledge of all aspects of commercial hospital mechanical construction including but not limited to codes, acceptable installation practices, and applicable testing associated with underground mechanical, mechanical elements of building transportation systems (i.e. elevators, dumbwaiters, etc), sprinkler and fire-suppression systems, boiler/steam piping systems, domestic water systems, HVAC equipment, air intakes, exhausts, air handling units, pumps, piping, chillers, controls, plenums, pressurized systems, medical air, vacuum, piped gases, drain-waste-vent piping, pneumatic tube systems, special medical equipment, etc.
Knowledge of mechanical design and installation for specialized medical and laboratory equipment including but not limited to MRI, PET, CT, audiometric booths, fume hoods, and sterilization equipment.
Ability to review design and construction plans against existing site conditions, assess the need to make changes because of unforeseen conditions or design problems, and propose cost effective solutions.
Ability to determine compliance of workmanship, materials, equipment and installed work with contract requirements.
Ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computers. Ability to utilize a project management database program for administration of contract documents.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing and to negotiate effectively.
OSHA Safety 30 HR Training Preferred
