R&D Manager to manage and coordinate the work of highly skilled Professionals, with the objective of developing new product lines and expanding existing product lines.  The R&D Manager is accountable for results in terms of overall R&D costs, budgets, methods, quality, and quantity.  The R&D Manager is required to assist in any manner requested which will contribute to the smooth operation of the Company.

JOB DUTIES:

- Identify short-term and long-range issues, provide information and recommend options.

- Direct and coordinate activities of department through Professional Supervisors.

- Work closely with Plant Managers and others to analyze delays or problems and take corrective action.

- Determine staffing levels.

- Assist the Sales/Marketing department in presentations and development of technical literature.

- Determine company presence at conventions, annual meetings, trade associations, and seminars.

- Prepare budgets, schedule and approve expenditures.

-  Approve product specifications and confirm product performance.

- Participate in planning meetings for new products and assist in the transition of products from research to manufacturing.

- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.

- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations, establishing and enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE::

B.S., MS or PhD Material Sciences with 5-10 + years experience managing a Research & Development Lab. Experience and working Knowledge should come from  FILM-FOIL, LAMINATION, or FIBERGLASS. Any combination is desirable and Cable Industry experience is a plus.

MUST HAVE R&D Staff Management experience new product research and development such as raw materials selection and pricing, supplier identification, measurement of materials properties, data analysis and interpretation, project status updates, preparation of final reports and product specifications, identification and selection of new test and process equipment.

Salary: 90000 - 110000
