THINK has a great employment opportunity for an Application Development - Technical Customer Service Plastics Engineer. Client is based out of central South Carolina, however no relocation is necessary since there is 70% travel. Responsibilities: - gt; Product support for various consumer markets predominantly involving injection molding as well as some extrusion applications (profile, tubing mono-coex, sheet-film) - gt; Provide technical expertise on material and process selection, application development, tool design as well as manufacturing recommendations - gt; Provide technical customer service assistance, prepare and conduct technical presentations and technical service duties to include injection molding and extrusion applications as needed - gt; Provide independent, competent and timely support to customers, agents and company personnel in the areas of expertise - gt; Assist teams in the determination of general chemical and physical properties of the above products, as needed - gt; Compile accurate records of all special project work: molding, extrusion trials, and testing - gt; Predicts-calculates and-or sets up testing programs to investigate suitability of polymers and-or polymer systems - gt; Responsible for development support for injection molding applications to include material(s), process-process technology selection, application development, part-tool design and manufacturing recommendations Requirements: - gt; BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics Engineering or related field - gt; 3 years minimum experience in engineering plastics ISBM-Extrusion Blow Molding Technologies, as processor, tool designer and-or Technical Customer Service Representative - gt; Experience in Engineering Plastics Extrusion Technologies, as processor, tool designer and-or Technical Customer Service representative very helpful - gt; Knowledge of Engineering Plastics (Preferably Nylons) applications-properties-processing and confident knowledge of the field, either through experience with Plastics manufacturer or Plastics Processors (OEM) - gt; Proficient with personal computers and programs (MS word, Excel and Power Point a must) - gt; Good Organizational skills (Planning-Monitoring) - gt; Up to 70% Travel Benefits: - gt; No relocation required-able to be based out of home - gt; Medical, dental, 401K, vacation, holiday, safety shoe allowance, life insurance and much more
