Cytec Industry Inc’s Mining Chemicals group is the leading supplier of specialty Chemicals to the mining industry. A Technical Sales position is open within the solvent extraction group, based in Phoenix, AZ. Due to the technical focus of the position, a B.S. is required, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Mining, or Materials Science and Engineering.
Responsibilities will include technical service for existing customers; new business development; and development of technical programs designed to improve customer operations. This position is technically oriented; however, commercial skill is also required. The territory is primarily in Arizona, New Mexico, and northern Mexico.
Ideal candidate will have a strong drive to continue to learn; take initiative; be a good problem solver and effective communicator. Need 5+ years of experience in technical service/sales, or mining operations. Experience in solvent extraction applications is strongly preferred. Candidate must be fluent in English and an additional preference will be given for strong Spanish skills. Experience in analytical chemical lab procedures is a plus, as is experience in set-up and operation of pilot plant equipment for on-site trials. Excellent communication skills required, including strong technical writing capability and preferably experience giving presentations. Experience working with teams and supervision experience also preferred.
