Scope of Responsibilities
|
|
|
Design, development and characterization of analog circuits related to optical receivers, optical transmitters, power designs and high speed backplane designs for telecommunication systems. Design, development, and characterization of analog control loops, PLL’s, frequency synthesizers, and timing circuits. This engineer will typically be the technical lead on a project utilizing multiple design engineers.

Specific Responsibilities
|
|
- Design of analog control circuits associated with power, optical sources, modulators, and optical amplifiers.
- System level characterization of optical receivers and transmitters.
- Design of Gbps circuits.
- Design “Lead” for large multi-task design projects.
- Provide technical guidance to other engineers both in and outside the electronics group.

|
Candidate Profile
|
|
- RF design skills at least to 12 GHz.
- Analog and digital communication theory, including modulation and demodulation techniques.
- Skilled in the design of analog filters, PLL’s / Frequency Synthesizers, Oscillators, Clock and Data Recovery techniques.
- Ability to analyze and simulate analog control loops and systems.
- Experience with optical communication systems.
- Experience with CAD tools and Analog/RF simulation tools.
- SONET, OTN, GbE, and 10GbE experience a plus.
- Experience with high speed backplane designs is a plus.
- Experience with power system design is desirable.
