Electrical Engineer - (Senior)
Key Responsibilities
- Execute preliminary and detailed design for building electrical systems: power distribution, power quality, lighting, controls & instrumentation, automation, IT, life safety, etc.
- Undertake assessments of existing electrical systems as to capacity, condition, remaining lifespan and functionality.
- Preparation of feasibility and design reports on electrical systems for new and existing buildings.
- Coordination with structural, mechanical and process staff with electrical systems design input as they undertake engineering work for their respective disciplines.
- Supervision of technical staff in preparation of contract drawings and documents for tender and construction.
- Attend project meetings with clients and other stakeholders.
- Provide supervision of technical staff engaged in contract administration during construction phase.
- Supervision of a five person electrical group.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
- P.Eng designation from APEGM (preferable) or another Canadian P.Eng licensing body (mandatory to have at least on or the other).
- Minimum of 15 years of related experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Canada as a P.Eng employed in the consulting industry.
- Practical knowledge of Manitoba Building Code and Electrical Code, and related design standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
