Civil Engineer – Water Resources/Hydraulics/Hydrology Engineering
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Coordinate all activities related to rural water management, including drainage, flood control, irrigation, public water source development, conservation and source water protection
- Manage the coordination with geotechnical and structural staff, setting and implementing technical standards, undertaking engineering studies, designing water control infrastructure
- Conduct site reviews during construction and commissioning.
- Participating in Business Development (team effort with Civil, Water & Environment managers).
- Establish and maintain relations with the clients in order to define their needs, explain technical information, concepts or study results.
- Prepare project budget.
- Verify and accomplish the request for proposals, estimates and other technical documents.
- Manage junior staff and supervise the work of the Technicians and support staff assigned to the project.
- Perform all other related tasks that will help accomplish the project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering majoring in hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
- Minimum 7 years experience, at least 4 of which shall be in Manitoba.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGM
- Experience in engineering consulting will be considered an asset
- Good initiative, attention to details.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
