Civil Engineer – Water Resources/Hydraulics/Hydrology Engineering

Key Responsibilities

Lead and Coordinate all activities related to rural water management, including drainage, flood control, irrigation, public water source development, conservation and source water protection
Manage the coordination with geotechnical and structural staff, setting and implementing technical standards, undertaking engineering studies, designing water control infrastructure
Conduct site reviews during construction and commissioning.
Participating in Business Development (team effort with Civil, Water & Environment managers).
Establish and maintain relations with the clients in order to define their needs, explain technical information, concepts or study results.
Prepare project budget.
Verify and accomplish the request for proposals, estimates and other technical documents.
Manage junior staff and supervise the work of the Technicians and support staff assigned to the project.
Perform all other related tasks that will help accomplish the project.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering majoring in hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
Minimum 7 years experience, at least 4 of which shall be in Manitoba.
Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGM
Experience in engineering consulting will be considered an asset
Good initiative, attention to details.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
