Key Responsibilities
- Review of completed site investigations, inspections (including level 2 coring and girder, corrosion investigations), assessments, design reports, costs estimates and tender documents.
- Ensure that the quality of the project is managed appropriately by bridge staff.
- Provide training, support and mentoring for junior bridge staff.
- Review of hydrological analysis using various basin run-off potential and run-off depth analysis.
- Review of completed CSP and SPCSP culvert designs and production of "C" estimates, P-drawings and tenders for construction.
- Review environmental permits (Federal Fisheries, Canadian Coast Guard and Alberta Environment) acquisition documents that are prepared on behalf of the local municipalities and Alberta Transportation.
- The successful candidate will need to show extensive project management experience with a demonstrated ability to manage project, prepare estimates and supervise work completed by others.
- The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skill, report presentations to the client, and be able to work with engineering staff at all levels.
- Support business development initiative and build strong client relationships.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer status (P.Eng.) in Canada or degree in civil or environmental engineering or water resource sciences.
- 5 to 10 years related experience in surface water modeling, flood studies, open channel hydraulics and design, culvert hydraulics, reservoir routing, and specification of erosion protection works.
- Be an existing member or have the ability to become a member of APEGGA.
- The successful candidate must possess a high level of technical skills and practical ability to solve problems. With experience in the hydro-technical design of bridge and culverts.
- Ability to manage and coordinate numerous projects at once.
- You are results orientated and able to meet deadlines within established time frames and budgets.
