The City of Cedar Rapids, IA is currently recruiting for
Storm Water Management Project Engineer. This position manages the City’s Storm Water Utility and monitors compliance of City storm water runoff with Federal, State and local regulations; develops and directs the development of engineering plans, reports and studies pertaining to storm water management. Specific qualifications include:

Licensure as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of Iowa, or if issued by another state, the ability to obtain within six months

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction Engineering or related field

7 or more years in public works project enigneering, design, construction and implanting and managing a storm water utility
Examples of Essential Job Functions:
Reviews private development of engineering designs of public works construction in accordance with City and industry standards;
Establishes, implements, manages and monitors City’s Storm Water Utility;
Establishes and manages storm water monitoring program to substantially comply with the City’s NPDES Storm Water Permit;
Reviews and analyzes data pertaining to storm water quality for the purpose of evaluating compliance with Federal, State and local regulations;
Recommends projects and programs related to storm water management;
Develops engineering designs, plans specifications and contracts for the construction of storm water management projects;
Prepares feasibility studies related to various storm water management issues;
Prepares and monitors Storm Water Utility’s operating and CIP budget;
