Manages process, project and control engineering activities for the site. The primary focus is to evaluate, recommend and implement process improvements and the integration of new process opportunities into the facility.  Continuously evaluate, recommend and implement productivity improvements to plant processes and operating procedures.  Plan and direct the activities of process, project and control engineers. Responsible for the annual evaluation and development of engineering personnel. This person will manage process engineers, project engineers, and controls engineers  Develop and manage the engineering department capital and expense budgets.  Assist process engineers with the development of trial/pilot run SOP’s and leading SOP training sessions. Coordinate engineering resources to provide coverage for new equipment start-ups and new process trial runs.  Basic data requirements include mass & energy balances/process kinetics, current equipment lists and drawings, process flow diagrams, relief vent sizing calculations, etc.

A degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of ten years experience in project/process engineering combined with a minimum of five years technical management experience in a batch organic chemicals manufacturing operation.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
