JOB TITLE: Project Engineer/Manager, Aviation/Airports

AVCON, INC., an engineering and planning firm, is seeking Airport/Aviation Project Engineers/Managers for all office locations. These positions are responsible for design and management of airport engineering projects.
The successful candidate will:
- Manage and organize all phases of project work, including marketing (proposal preparation), planning, design, review and construction phase support;
- Work directly with customer to understand and proactively respond to needs and expectations;
- Apply advanced concepts and techniques to analyze technical problems, assessing feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures and devising new approaches and alternative solutions;
- Direct work of staff and sub-consultants;
- Review project documents for quality assurance;
- Mentor development of junior engineering staff;
- Represent AVCON at meetings and conferences, developing personal contacts in the industry and effectively communicating company core services.
Qualifications for this role include:
- 5 or more years of engineering experience in both General Aviation and Large Commercial Airports. Familiarity with airport community in Florida/North Carolina desired.
- P.E. licensure in Florida, or ability to obtain P.E. from Florida within 6 months of hire date.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related). M.S. preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong working knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and Federal/State funding processes.
- Proven experience in development of project schedules, scopes and budgets.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Command of English grammar, spelling and composition rules in written communication, both technical and non-technical.
- Excellent verbal communication skills. Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization, clients (current and potential) and vendors.
- Effective organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Commitment to highest standards of quality. Attention to detail is critical.
