CHEMICAL, PETROCHEMICAL, REFINERY & PHARMACEUTICAL RECRUITERS Responsible for driving manufacturing productivity by improving process efficiencies, reducing wastes, and increasing capacities as well as ensuring profitable growth through successful new product commercializations. Key processes in this adhesives and sealants manufacturing facility include solids conveying, drying, mixing, compounding, extruding, laminating, winding, slitting, chemical reactions, and packaging. Specific responsibilities include: Applying Six Sigma tools and techniques to achieve breakthroughs in waste reduction, yield improvements, capacity gains, and productivity improvements. Strengthening teamwork within operations and across functions using appropriate tools. Leading continuous process improvement activities. Improving process control via improved instrumentation and statistical tools. Identifying and implementing automation and packaging improvements. Utilizing lean enterprise techniques to improve activities. Leading technical troubleshooting activities and continuously improving the technical skills of the work force. Ensuring compliance with regulatory and TS16949 requirements. Addressing customer concerns and driving down product defects. Providing financial analysis support of plant activities to identify opportunities. Leading process and equipment design activities. Representing operations on product launch teams and leading new product commercialization activities within operations. A degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or design environment. Compounding experience is a key requirement for this position. Experience with packaging or automation a plus. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self starter with a high energy level and track record of success. Will have the ability to build, lead, and participate on teams and have strong facilitation skills as well as excellent people and communications skills. The person will have practical background in statistical techniques as well as process measurement and improvement techniques, knowledge of Lean and six sigma Black Belt principles. Process design and problem solving skills and experience utilizing computer tools and the ability to coach, lead, and motivate others. Candidate should be goal oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to focus on the big picture and works well in a manufacturing environment with manufacturing personnel.
