Needed To Fill Direct-Hire Full-Time Employment Positions With A Major Oil & Gas Operating Company In Their Upstream Oil & Gas & LNG Development Company For Major Capital Projects Facilities Construction Support Internationally
LOCATION: Houston, TX
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Contracts Engineer plays an active role in the recommendation and development of Project Contracting Strategies. This includes the recommendation of work breakdown structures, contractors, forms of contracts, and project specific compensation on major Capital Projects.
- The Contracts Engineer analyzes data on market intelligence from other groups and uses results to optimize project execution strategies.
- The Contracts Engineer provides guidance and leadership in contractor pre-qualification, bid slate selection, tendering and evaluating proposals, measuring contractor performance, and providing feedback to line management.
- Additionally, the Contracts Engineer facilitates the implementation of Project Contracting Strategies through contract(s) award, provides assistance through contract close-out, and gains and maintains alignment among the project team, function and other organizations.
- The Contracts Engineer also has a role in improving contract work processes and tools as part of a collaborative effort to identify and implement best practices.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- BS Engineering preferred (MS Engineering, MS Construction Management or MBA desirable).
- Experience in a variety of project management positions or contract administration roles.
- Basic proficiency in most Project Management skills (e.g., cost estimating, project controls, execution planning, contracting, planning & scheduling).
- Experience in execution of a major capital project, in a leadership capacity on the Project Management Team, is preferred.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills are essential.
- Previous experience in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., marine, facilities, subsea, pipelines, structures, etc.) is preferred.
- Flexible to international travel, including potential project/site assignments in Africa, CIS, Middle East, Europe, S. America, Indonesia, Australia, Caspian Region, etc.
- Must be fluent in English, second language a plus.
