COMPANY LOCATION: Houston, Texas POSITION DESCRIPTION: Tasks include: (1) Conduct feasibility studies on major additions and/or upgrades to existing bulk terminals and distribution facilities and long-term product business strategies. (2) Perform process/system optimization and economic analysis of existing and potential new bulk terminals and distribution facilities. (3) Direct evaluations of major bulk terminals facilities as performed by others. (4) Interface with operating organizations, engineering and project management. (5) Prepare scoping papers to define capital projects covering bulk terminals and distribution facilities operations. (6) Prepare and make presentations to Corporate Management on product distribution issues. (7) Full-time advisor and consultant to Saudi Aramco management and other organizations. (8) Mentor young planning engineering for future development to Facilities Planning Specialist Positions. SELECTION CRITERIA: Min. 10 years experience. BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degree preferred. Experience in bulk terminals and distribution process; experience in performing economics evaluations & feasibility studies, and in preparing for budgetary approvals; experience in applying and analyzing hydraulic and/or batching simulations; and possess excellent written and oral communications and technical presentation skills. COMMENTS: Facilities Planning department is responsible for the development and coordination of the capital program throughout the Company. The Manufacturing Facilities Planning division (MFPD) is responsible for coordinating and planning for the Refining Marketing & International Business Lines new facilities and major modification of existing facilities in support of crude and gas development programs, and assists in the technical development and economic justification of its Capital Programs and Budgets. Functions include: (1) Coordinating engineering feasibility studies. (2) Developing alternatives for proposed capital projects. (3)Developing and updating facilities and system master plans.:(4) Preparing Design Basis Scoping Papers which are the basis for project proposals. (5) Evaluating feedstock supply opportunities for proposed petrochemical facilities, and Technical support for crude classification & primary methodology. :(6) Providing technical assistance in the interpretation of Saudi Arabia''s Government directives. (7) Providing technical coordination during the pre-construction phase of non-Saudi Aramco facilities. (8) Reviewing project specifications with Project Management to insure economic design and conformation with recognized engineering and safety standards. Job Code: E07-70008261
